makesperfect Moderation Summary

Version 3 | Published 24th March 2026

What this is
This is a short, plain‑English summary of how makesperfect keeps the community safe. It explains what we do when content is reported, what we remove, and how you can get help or appeal a decision.

Our goals
We want makesperfect to be a friendly, constructive place for musical practice. We remove content that harms people, breaks the law, or undermines the community’s purpose.

What we do remove

  • Illegal content including child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and content that facilitates criminal activity.

  • Harassment and threats including targeted abuse, doxxing, and sustained harassment.

  • Hate speech and violent content that targets people based on protected characteristics.

  • Privacy breaches and doxxing — sharing someone’s private information without consent.

  • Spam and scams and content that disrupts the service.
We may also remove posts that break challenge rules or are off topic for the community.

How reporting works

  • Use the Report button (flag icon) on any public item.

  • You can choose to report anonymously or include your username. If you report anonymously we cannot follow up for more information, but we will still log metadata.

  • We aim to review reports within 24–72 hours and will act faster for urgent or illegal cases.

What happens after a report

  • We may remove, restrict, or leave the content after review.

  • For serious or illegal content we will preserve evidence and escalate to law enforcement when required.

  • If we remove or restrict your content we will notify you, explain the reason, and provide appeal details.

Appeals and transparency

  • You can appeal removal decisions via the process in the removal notice. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator.

  • We publish periodic transparency notes summarising reports, removals, and policy changes.
